Just to test waters, is there an interest for a long form write up on how to setup your own lightning network node without usage of Star9, Umbrel or any of the opinionated all-in-one setups? I can probably try to write one up during my spare time and for Eclair. If not, that’s great too, less work for me 🐶🐾🫡🫂

I have used these instructions before https://raspibolt.org

I would certainly test another set of instructions

I would never use or recommend using RPI for this 🐶🐾🫡

The project is called raspibolt, but you can easily transfer it to hardware running linux 🙂

Ok, makes sense, I guess a better name would be good to have to avoid confusion 🐶🐾🤣

Definitely! Start9 and Umbrel are great, but they feel a bit limited when it comes to configurability.

I would definitely be interested to learn more about setting up Eclair. I roughly followed the RaspiBolt guides (https://raspibolt.org) originally when I first tried CLN but then changed to Umbrel as it was just easier to get everything working when I didn’t really know how Lightning worked. My next node will be built without Umbrel or Start9..

I’d suggest just building it from components with your skill set 🐶🐾🫡

if it's software wise, we already have tutorials like raspibolt.org, minibolt.info...

if it's about opening/maintaining channels, liquidity then yes, would be interesting

I cannot claim myself knowledgeable enough to write about opening and maintaining channels, but my setup didn’t follow any tutorials or guides, so it would be a new one 🐶🐾🫡

You have the experience to write about how not to close channels though! 🤣🤣

That I do 🐶🐾🤣🤣🤣
