Im learning some pretty crazy things about Canada that i never knew.
At the end of WW2 there was something called the Rat Line.
This was an escape route from Europe at the end of WW2. Thousands of SS veterans and Nazi collaborators from Baltic States and the Ukraine were given quick entry to Canada, in a time when many Jews were imprisoned in 8 internment camps across Canada.
The Jews were held for “suspicion of being Communists”.
The Canadian historian Irving Abella wrote extensively on the topic.
Ever get the feeling actual history is not what you’ve been told?
Yikes! Never knew that
