“We will find another place in Knoxville area that can do $25 ticket and free meet and greet. I will work to get your tickets refunded from my own budget if they can’t”
Totally thought this said free meat at first 😂
He’s like the nostr of music. I’m so glad he didn’t let them buy him for $8M. He is what music sounds like with no golden handcuffs.
Per his Jordan Peterson interview, he turned down a $100M contract too
At any price point the number doesn’t matter. It could be a trillion gaquillion dollars or it could be 25¢. Either way, they own him.
“Beware hiring him” is the venue’s dog whistle to the rest of the fat cats. “Don’t hire him” as the establishment line in the sand. It backfires when you listen to him in his own words. He sounds like a random dude, a dude like you and me.
He is a near perfect champion to represent and boost millions of peoples’ frustrations about current society
Right? Crazy.
I’ve never understood all the complaints about high ticket prices. High ticket prices indicate demand. A venue has a fixed capacity, so high demand means high prices for seats.
The only way to solve this is to either fix prices (which just creates a shortage), or play a bigger venue (which probably makes a meet and greet impossible). Why would an artist be upset by too many people wanting to exchange value for their work?
I think people are more upset that the ticket vendor monopolies charge ridiculous percentage “fees” on top of the ticket cost
