I grew up on the internet. Losing the internet and what made it great is a very real domicide to me, which in turn is the reason why I care so much about nostr and "building it right."

Appreciate it πŸ€™

The internet made me grow up. I'd like to leave it behind.

That's fair, and in some way I feel similar. But I don't want to throw the baby out with the bath water.

Can we add MySpace to the list ?

never used it

Mike Benz newest episode on JRE really drives home something I’ve long known which is that the internet we knew and loved as kids was a result of a soft power influence campaign by the us intel agencies.

We used to have intel agencies at home and in Europe that believed an open internet and free speech was the best way to accomplish their foreign policy and regime change goals in non nato countries.

Mike Benz is fascinating to listen to. Rogan was a good one

Talking to a friend about this episode this week. Conservatives of my generation grew up with Tom Clancy novels and Ronald Reagan. Now I see that we got played, bigger govt was the outcome for democrat or republican. Republicans built the intelligence apparatus, while democrats built the social spending hierarchy.

Brutal episode. Too few people know about this stuff.

This is the second time this episode is recommended. I'm going to listen to this episode.

😊 heartfelt confession . I like πŸ‘
