Really digging the AeroPress Premium, it’s mostly glass 🪩 and metal 🤘 🎸

Fancy!!

I’ve been an #AeroPress snob for a decade. Help me understand how much better the #coffee tastes when made in the premium?

Just as great, but without the microplastics!

Man, that's what I was hoping the aeropress go premium would be. I bought the "premium version" hoping it would be mostly glass and metal but it turns out all their travel versions are plastic. 😑 Still beats hotel coffee by an absolute long shot, but I am a little disappointed.

To be fair, if I went travelling, I’d take the plastic version because this thing is heavy. Over 800g heavy while plastic one black one is a bit over 200g.

Ah yeah. That makes a diffrence.

Why this instead of a French press?

It’s much faster with the AeroPress, cleaning is also super easy, and honestly I think the coffee comes out tasting better.

What he said. Plus no sediment or stray grounds. Tastes fantastic.

Wow, that's nice!

Loved my Airpress, until the whole plastic and chemical narrative came knocking. Pain in the ass, but makes sense.

If health is the goal, search for "stainless coffee strainer" on Amazon or Aliexpress. Cone shaped thing, get the finest mesh possible. No plastic and no bleached papers, just coffee and boiling water, as an espresso machine from a barista does ☕

The transparent AeroPress is the worst, I have it and it’s cracking. That’s the reason I got the glass Premium version to replace it. You can see the cracks in it and they can be felt from the inside. They really dropped the ball with that one!

Your cat wants its hat back just saying…

I’ve used a transparent #AeroPress for over a decade, literally on a daily basis. Mine has no cracks. Are you using boiling water or pressing to hard? I’ve never heard of a flaw or AeroPress cracking.

~175F/80C, maybe I pressed too hard? Well it’s in the picture so now you’ve heard

I also have the original dark one and it has no cracks. Both get similar treatment.

Mine is the darker one too. Maybe it’s a flaw on the new transparent ones ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah, something "fishy" with the Aeropress. It just tastes A LOT better than all else. But the rubber from the plunger is also in full contact with the boiling water, and some micro bits from friction will inevitably end up in our morning goodness.

The stainless percolators or the french plungers are also great, but the grounds floating in my cup are not pleasant to my taste.

This is the filter I alluded to earlier. Only weighs 70g and it only needs a splash of water to clean up. Don't even need detergent or a filthy sponge, the grounds just fall off from the tap water.

It's also easier to make extra cups when someone visits, which was always onerous with one Airpress. I live on a sailboat, so weight counts and water is scarce for clean up.

i prefer my indestructible french press from stainless steel

i'd just like to mention that this is a photo from the internet, i keep mine cleaner 😆

Same, makes a great cup, lasts forever and easy to clean

yeah, i've had glass ones but they are not great for travel, this one can also serve as home defense tool

That will definitely outlive you. I have more coffee makers but prefer my trusty AeroPresses for my day to day.

How is the coffee though?

I didn't even know they existed!

It looks huge
