Let's talk DMRs (Designated Marksman Rifle) or their related cousin, the Recce Rifle. Essentially, the idea is to have a versatile rifle that is designed primarily for the field, but can also handle urban environments and dense wooded areas.

The main facets of these rifles are a scope (as opposed to a red dot), a +16in barrel, and often a suppressor. The ideal caliber for one of these rifles is 5.56 or something in that realm that is light enough to carry longer distances (as opposed to a 308 or 6.5 Creedmoor). These rifles also typically make great hunting rifles for small to medium-sized game.

Not a fair game for hunting with all those optics and laser pointer.

Use something like this instead to give a chance to the animal and your skills.

And this will not cause a massacre if a troubled person gets their hands on it.

One of my best friends in high school was an avid deer hunter. He and his dad only used a crossbow. Swore by it. They always came home with game. 🏹🦌

Definitely more of a challenge and forces you to improve your stalking skills. Also much more quiet.

Lol depends on what you're hunting and where. Most things, you've only got one shot before it's gone into the woods.

Rocking the old peq2 still.
