Just installed GrapheneOS on my phone. Feels great to be able to get straight into github and download the apps you want. Not some apple to tell you what you can't do.

Welcome and congrats. Its a journey

Thanks, can't wait to continue my own journey!

Nice πŸ€ πŸ€™ check out obtanium πŸ€“

this ☝🏻

and accrescent. it's still early (not many apps) but you can get unattended updates of #molly, a hardened fork of signal there and they have a awesome vision of an indie app store for #gos users. and i support the mission πŸ’―

I've heard of Molly for a couple years now but have never bothered to try it out. What is there to harden in Signal? Losing Gighy?

I don't understand. Is there already a foss version or is it just their goal?

"Versions

Molly, like Signal, uses Google’s proprietary code to support some features.

Molly-FOSS is the community effort to make it 100% free and open-source."

no more closed gardens

Everything else seems wrong now, apart from the notifications. Did not get any notifications on all the replies I got. In a way it's a good thing though less clutter to go through

No more gardens?

How do you keep your clock accurate?

time is a rough concensus

Careful there, my dude, soon enough Microsoft will be telling you what can and cannot be on GitHub :)

Then the open source community will probably do something else. Look what we have here on nostr, just doing our thing and nobody can do anything about it!

Checkout Obtainium, a very useful FOSS app store which searches github, gitlab, fdroid and a bunch of other sources.

Oh that looks sweet! Thanks

You should consider DivestOS it you care about privacy.

Same here. New year, new experience. Welcome to the club.
