It's hard to express joy with a painting when everything seems useless to you.

So express the uselessness β€οΈ
That is. But think a moment, say, leopard running in savanna, or lion kittens playing. That's pure joy, of sheer enjoy just of being here. Do they ever think about any of the kind, to be any use of πππ·
You're right. In fact, only humans experience the sense of uselessness.
I hope you find joy π«
But you gotta be honest with your expression or you could turn out like Thomas Kincaid π¬ that guy repressed his unpleasant thoughts instead of addressing them so hard, in art and life, and it affected both negatively
I think one good tack to take would be to find the things that bring you *closest to* joy and do studies on them. Focusing on them in painting could help you explore why they do that and make you smile.
But like they say, βpaint what you seeβ β donβt force it to be happy when itβs not.
Why do things feel useless right now?
Thanks π that really hit.
You're right about Kincaid; I donβt want to fake joy and lose the truth.
Iβll try focusing on what almost brings joy and see where that leads.
Things feel useless lately because the meaningβs gone fuzzy... like Iβm doing stuff, but not feeling it.
Still, your words help.
Thanks again. π«π¨
