I was trying to read about tax deductions for charitable donations (501c3). One site said that you can write off up to 50% of your adjusted gross income. Another site said 20% to 60%. Can someone confirm this?

Read bottom of page 14. “It depends.”

I hate reading suit language. So is a 501c3 considered a 50% deduction limit organization? They leave it shit so vague

If it provides a “public benefit” then probably. Churches, schools, United Way, etc. The rules are incredibly complicated. If you’re thinking about a big donation, probably a good idea to talk to a tax accountant.

They leave it vague intentionally so they can take everything on a case by case. I’ll talk to a suit about it.

Exactly. Good call.
