Yea, those dishes you cooked looked excellent. I'm a big fan of dhal variations. We have a big moringa tree growing next to our house so we have a good supply of drumsticks, the long seed pods, that go into some of the dhals I cook in the summer. If you have a chance to find them they're really just an easy quick boil and then mix with the dish. Chew for the soft pulp inside and then spit out the skin. If you can't find them search out Filipino community in your area because they enjoy to grow and eat the leaves. Not sure if they use the drumsticks much though. They call it Malunggay.
