Hello, #nostriches!

Would you be interested in BTC art and/or jewelry?

I have some experience in jewelry making, and access to some rather cool tools at work.

I was thinking earings, necklaces, and bracelets.

For art, I could do things from tiny to up to ~5' (~150cm). Wall art, signs, etc. Keeping them smaller makes shipping easier, but, I work at a place that can freight the big stuff.

First runs would be made from stainless, mostly 304, though I can get 316 if you're extra picky.

I am open to collaborative designs.

Eventually, if this takes off, I could cast precious metals.

I haven't tried any of the fancier types of welding art, as I'm not much of an artist, though, I'm very good technically and can make most things happen to an acceptable standard.

What do you think of when you hear "BTC jewelry?"

That’s a good question, I haven’t seen much BTC jewelry…I’ve been looking to see what people come up with. Perhaps some Nostr jewelry too. I think some ⚡️ earrings and necklaces would be nice and discreet.

Yup. I've thought of a few things like that already, especially if I can get my hands on setting reasonably priced titanium sheets that I can anodize really nicely in vibrant gold and purple.

Could you possibly embed some NFC tags into the jewellery so that they could link to your npub or maybe lnurl-w ?

Possibly. I'd have to find appropriately small and concealable tags, and also work out how to mount the tags so they work. Metal gets in the way of most NFC functioning. But, I think it is possible.

So I am one of the rare pepe’s on here that still likes gold and silver (I’m like 92:8). I think in due time people would love bitcoin art founded in precious metals. Can’t make a necklace out of bitcoin…

No, I mean in terms of dimensions. The double eagle coin is about 1 oz. Something like this, but 24k instead of 21k and of course Bitcoin-themed, I would buy.

Of course. My only concern is that such an object (coin, medal, etc) requires stamping. Is that something you can realistically make?

I would cast it, at first.

Stamping requires a stamp to be made, which I can have made at any decent machine shop. So it's totally doable, with the right amount of capital invested. Stamping part is super easy with a press, which I already have.
