Interesting. I'm making an automatic chicken door. I planned on using a raspberry pi zero. Maybe I'll look into one of these.

It just depends. Generally my thoughts are if something needs to do a thing, use a micro controller. If it needs to do a thing and a thing and another thing or if you are doing something more resource intensive such as computer vision, use a micro computer. Esp32 is a micro controller but kinda in between in ways
That seems like good advice. A microcontroller is perfect for raising and lowering a door.
