Lived in the ocean my entire life and never ever worn sunscreen. If you want to cover up from the sun get a full wide brimmed hat, sun shirt with a hoodie and a pair of light pants. It’s the only safe way to protect yourself from excessive sunlight. Wiping chemicals on your skin never seemed like an intelligent idea.
