Not sure if I’m really happy about the algorithms on primal.net , they are algos after all. They also just gave value to your likes.

More likes = more chances of ending up on trending page = more zaps.

Makes us sheep to the algorithm again. But while I say this, it is a step towards better discovery. We should think about ways for discovery without the platform necessarily pushing content to you.

You need an algo, this is one of the biggest usability downsides of Nostr.

The algo should be of your choice however. Eg Show me accounts based on how much I zapped them.

Algos lead to engagement harvesting lead to people fighting insulting each other for engagement lead to the toxic environment of twitter

You are confusing the algo that you need to find relevant/interesting content, with the algo that is meant to generate ad revenues.

Don’t throw the Bitbox out with the Ledger.

Algos tuned to engagement/most zapped will generate such content, if there are actually good algos for content discovery I would not be opposed to them

Lists/topics wise badges to follow during onboarding are good algos on that front in my opinion. I would not be against those

Algos is not a usability downside, it’s content discovery, there could be multiple solutions to that outside of what twitter offers you
