Sorry my feed is here: https://blvcksec.com/index.xml

What RSS software do you use?

Also, big fan of this newsletter: https://bitcoinops.org/en/newsletters/

Fresh rss.

How do you add RSS feeds to your nostr feed? Is there an easy way for simpletons like me?

#asknostr

There is a way but I forgot

So there is hope:)

But was it idiot-friendly. Like I just paste it in somewhere lol?

are you still using those nostr RSS accounts?

Maybe a few

Remember we were discussing a tool to make your own

πŸ₯²

what is rss feed?

I can't give you a proper technical answer lol, but you know like when a blog has a new post. You can subscribe to that and it'll pop up. So yeah you can follow a bunch of blogs and it'll come up as notifications when new stuff is posted.

I'm.sure someone will give you a better answer tho lol.

(I suppose this is a RSS feed, as is twitter?)

no actually your response made a lot of sense, thank you <3

So yeah, you can subscribe to substacks, blogs and whatnot. And it will show up on your nostr feed.:)

Here you go technical explaination πŸ˜‹

https://xkcd.com

vs

https://xkcd.com/rss.xml

websites have a file for rss - its just a text file with links and content that updates whenever the owner publishes something new.

rss readers listen for the change and then pull in the data, putting most recent posts in front.

Try https://atomstr.data.haus . I've previously used https://rsslay.nostr.moe/ but that seems like it's down.

I want to learn about RSS

I tried this but 'Create' takes me to home page or something. πŸ€”

The best one seems to be the one nostr:npub1ktt8phjnkfmfrsxrgqpztdjuxk3x6psf80xyray0l3c7pyrln49qhkyhz0 posted. Sets it up with a profile pic and all that.

(I'm probably just kot good at this lol)

Maybe it’s not supported anymore? πŸ€”

nostr:npub1xdtducdnjerex88gkg2qk2atsdlqsyxqaag4h05jmcpyspqt30wscmntxy How does rss.nostr.band work?

Oh it's broken :(, the rss feed was based on settings some search query and then using it for the feed, but this wasn't implemented on the new nostr.band app. Honestly I'd be happy if people used something else, will remove it from the menu, don't have time to support it because barely anyone ever used it.

LOL, thanks. πŸ˜†

Try https://atomstr.data.haus - Add your feed, then subscribe to it with your fave client.

Yep I tried this and it's great.

But was looking for a way to have a curated feeds made up of many RSS feeds, which then publishes to an nPub I can access.

And can the tweak the curated RSS feeds by adding or removing. Having multiple curated feeds. That sorta thing.

Ah, I see. But this will be a pretty centralized thing. What about combining several RSS feeds in a nostr list?

Yes that is an idea. Was just seeing if this other method existed too:)

We are working on something which should offer that. Stay tuned!

I post whatever I'm interested about, usually tech, one a month or so. Snuck in a sourkrout recipie recently tho.

There's Kevin Kox, he usually posts thoughtful tech related posts

https://kevincox.ca/posts/

There's also Rob Knight, who's blog I follows and who started the defaults trend a bit back full of cool sites

There's https://ploum.net, he posts mostly about tech and open source in English and French

There's Chris Mclead's blog who also posts about tech. It's also the first place I found a link to my own blog in the wild so that makes him extra cool.

https://chrismcleod.dev/

There's Denshi, an Italian writer and Musician. https://denshi.org/

There's Jason Fry, who's been getting into non-smart phones lately, and usually posts tech and tech adjacent stuff.

There's also Yaroslav de la PeΓ±a Smirnov, a Russian software developer who posts in Russian, English, and Spanish.
