These tiarellas (foamflower) are in my native perennial bed. They're so cute! A nice shade/woodland plant. You can also get them in crosses with heuchera (coral bells/alumroot), called heucherella. There are so many heuchera varieties to choose from, from lime green to deep purple and blooms from white to bright red. For purists, the original native strains are also lovely. Does anyone know if heuchera or tiarella have any culinary/medicinal uses?

Of course, this was before the tiarellas were munched off by deer. :-( Any tips for keeping those giant pests out of my garden?? (Besides shooting and eating them...where I live that's unfortunately not an option.)
