There is a dark side to first finding out about #Bitcoin

Oftentimes, newly minted plebs will stack a modest amount of sats, and then simply sit on their hands and *wait* for hyperbitcoinization to occur.

Juneseth refers to this phenomenon as “Bitcoin purgatory.”

Do not fall into this trap. Instead, save in Bitcoin and focus on your craft. The more productive each of us are, the sooner the world adopts a Bitcoin standard.

Don’t forget to enjoy life as well. Remember, it’s about the journey.

The good news is that this is often just a phase. It goes like this —

1. Fine out about Bitcoin. See it as a “trade” like any other asset.

2. Try to find a shortcut by buying scamcoins, get rekt.

3. Become a true Bitcoiner, start stacking sats, become perhaps even a bit *too* bullish.

4. Enter Bitcoin purgatory. Put off enjoying life and working hard, listen to too many podcasts, wait for hyperbitcoinization deliverance

5. Realize waiting is a fool’s errand. Start working hard again, enjoying life, and simply save the fruits of your labor in cold hard sats.

This hits close to home!

So true, I’m in between step 4 and 5 now

Me too, been stuck in 4 dangerously long.

Similar to the Gartner Hype Cycle

This is a great breakdown. Currently in stage 5-working 2 jobs, putting 100% of extra money, time and energy into learning how to mine. The human body blows my mind at what it can withstand.

For those stuck in stage 4, get out of there!!!! You flew through the first 4 stages, you have the strength and knowledge to get past the stage.

Incredibly accurate. First accurate description of "Bitcoin Purgatory" is all too real!

This is a valuable insight. This is even made more difficult by the entrance of more new plebs in the bull market. They think they are going to get rich, but they really have only purchased their admission tickets to their first bear market. The ensuing drawdown is equally distracting

from the more productive and rewarding pursuits and activities.
