Welcome 🙌🏻

Thanks for joining

🙏 Where do you source from?

California but most of the herbs still come from China. As I study Chinese Medicine it’s only right to get my herbs from the source where it is abundant.

Tariffs is about to tax me lol

Are there any promising prospects for domestic tea?

My sleep tea from California

Even then some herbs are sourced outside the USA. Maybe if I had a big garden / greenhouse to produce all these it’ll be different but still too some greens are just native elsewhere or produce the best in China, Japan, or Ecuador.

Like Guayusa is native to ecuador. That’s where all the love is.

Domestically like Basil and thyme but realistically the USA imports much more than we think.

🙏

Some years ago I learned how to harvest and process He Shou Wu… in the NC mountains. I know there was kind of an initiative there to grow some Chinese herbs. Wish I could give you a specific contact, but it could be something to look into. Whoever is doing it might be connected with WNC Medicinal Herb Growers or the Buncombe County Cooperative Extension.

Strictly medicine seeds out of Oregon has great info and so many seeds and plant offerings.

Just heads up if looking to grow things a bit unusual.

Do you mean Strictly Medicinal?

Yes I do 😂

My hair needs some He Shou Wu now actually haha

This is great. This will be great in the future as I would love to harvest some medicinals. Even some bai shao and Wu Wei zhi.

So many Chinese herbs COULD grow well in various parts of the U.S. I’m surprised it isn’t already more of a thing considering how much our ginseng is preferred.

Oh yes I love me some Xi Yang Shen since it’s much more cooling than a warm ass Ren Shen haha

But you are right. I think maybe because a lot of them are native to China and carry that climatel (yes I made that word up) energy

can y'all write that in Chinese that? my pinyin not so good.

I only know about 何首乌 😅 I don’t know lots about Chinese herbs yet

I need about 20 years to get to write it in Mandarin sorry.

I’m Pin Yin for now

Looks like it must be

Paeonia lactiflora 白芍

Schisandra chinensis 五味子
