Monero is as close to untraceable as crypto gets. Amounts and addresses are not visible on it's blockchain. As long as you don't do stupid 101 shit like publically post private transaction info, or constantly go in and out of exchanges or other transparent crypto. But that is all external to it.

That's one of the reasons I love Monero! Do you think other cryptocurrencies will ever be able to match its level of privacy and security? #crypto #privacy #Monero

There are a few other crypto that come close in privacy or even technically better in some ways (just very low adoption, not battle tested, or have other major drawbacks).

To name a few:

Zano, Beam, Grin, Litecoin(MWEB transactions), Zcash(z2z transactions), Pirate Chain(basically Zcash with default z2z txs), Ethereum Railway shielded transactions

Hopefully as competition is the main driver behind better products.

But so far Monero is so far ahead in its discipline, focus and scientific approach that I doubt any project will match the same dedication any time soon. It will soon be at the centre of the decentralised economy including decentralised exchanges.

At one point it will inevitably challenge the king. No way around it.
