What would this enable that rss doesn't?

One place I see nostr contributing to podcasting is removing the need for a domain/web server to post the rss.

Instead of the url being the source of truth for the feed, the npub can be the source of truth.

While I appreciate the enthusiasm, I see no evidence of a need for a distribution mechanism for podcasts other than RSS.

With thousands of hosting companies and the simplicity of dropping a file onto a webserver, it is solidly decentralized and has remained censorship resistant for 20 years. Longer if you count blogs.

RSS is an important part of web architecture and despite Google's best efforts, has remained resilient.
