Now imagine if the musician was self-custodied and self-hosted. THAT'S sovereign music, and that's what nostr:npub1w093ztdpy8spz8t60nh4l45lv76ua3x83v79lsv925sct5uuvvwq0rc0uv and I are playing for you week after week on Homegrown Hits: decentralized music or #DeMu. Value goes straight to the artist with keysend along with any contributors to the album / concert thanks to limitless, transparent value splits.

Get a taste.

Now you’re talking! That’s what I’m striving for right now.

I stopped using streaming services a few years back now. I host my own stuff on PeerTube but there’s no income stream for that.

Very interested to hear what you’re doing there!

Also… I really like the idea of FountainFM but their data collection policy has stopped me putting it on my phone. I’m tired of companies using me as a data generation service.

The dream would be streaming sats from my own web domain. Obviously there’s a lot of challenges in that!

I love the way you think! There are tons of other options for streaming sats besides Fountain at NudePodcastApps.com and when it comes to finding self-hosted music, I make most of my discoveries through LNBeats.com by hitting the DeMu button.

The decentralized musicians we feature are using the RSS protocol to self-host their albums and broadcast them out to all Podcasting 2.0 players. If you've got music of your own, there's a handy RSS feed template here: https://github.com/de-mu/demu-feed-template/blob/master/feed-with-comments.xml

All you need is a website to host that xml file, a wallet or node address to receive sats, and to upload the feed URL to the Podcast Index. If you ever want to give it a try and need help, let me know!

Thank you, gonna check that out now! :)

check out grayjay app, it supports plugins too.
