fuckin’ madness!
Nice number............ daym
This is brutal, and it's not just the uk suffering. Every 2 months when I go over my expenses and budget, I am finding I am paying more and more.
Very sad - rising costs are a reason I left London/UK. Also the rents are insane.
I’ve also traded most of my GBP for BTC after the UK Gilts were bailed out last year.
Getting more expensive to breathe
You can't compensate that with zaps... 🤔. Not much better in the Netherlands
Have they changed the way they calculate inflation if not they should do it like the states goes up slower and goes down faster 🤔
Brexit hits hard
Fuuuuck. That’s insane.
Just zapped you 100 sats, hope this helps
Ouch mate! 🍻
I feel like my mates look at me like I’m shitting on their lunch whilst wearing a foil hat when I suggest to them what their personal true inflation rate might actually be.
Brutal isn’t it. I cannot imagine how we would have managed if it was this way a few years ago when my wife and I were living on a combined salary of less than 18k. Still feels better than the US, when I was there recently a basket of good for a meal was 60-70 quid, we were only making veg chilli and salad for 6!
This year will be wild... And more people will wake up.
All I want are some tomatoes…
Gutted 😞
I say this with a heavy heart being from the UK, but this place feels like a sinking ship - but then I also feel that many countries may feel like this right now? Just a question of which ship is sinking faster?
The ruling class doesn't give a shit.
The new trend is to keep price the same, but include less - in same packaging. Misleading 🤔🤷
Schrinkflation
Curious to see where it's all headed and what the new system is going to be like.
F'king crazy and that is up from;
"The percentage of spend on food is the second highest at 14.7 per cent in 2019/20, after housing, fuel and power"
I bet this is only the official count...it's actually way higher then that.
Food inflation can lead to people consuming fewer nutritious calories & opting for cheap junk food.
Oh my
Sad times 😞
Have people started revolting there yet? Are they looking for solutions to being exploited by their government?
Early Retirement plan: Don’t eat and sell your groceries.
Officially?
Big print 😱
Ooofff… 😳
The idea that government takes 50% of my income has me rattled this week
fuck.
Saifedean would say “if you do not buy groceries there is no grocery inflation”
Youtuber Neil McCoy-Ward had a Tesco receipt from 2021. Basket of groceries. Totally unbiased list. Bought the exact same goods today.
Fresh Parsley still £1.20 ,Chicken fillets, cheese, eggs all up.
Finally he calculated 50.7% increase. Insane😱
meanwhile politicians be like:

It’s because of pilfering from decades ago too. The bill can no longer be delayed.
