It's really weird. There's a study out there (I can't be arsed to find it at the moment). That followed how people's political views change over time and economic situations.
Turns out that the more stable you are the more conservative you'll be.
The digital age made it exponentially easier to push destabilization to the masses... ergo... chaos.
