So Damus is paying to host images, how do they make money to afford that?
These are usually free with certain limits. If you need extra storage, you pay for it. Damus and other clients only provide you with an interface to interact with the hosting service provider
Unless you upload using NIP-95 at least is what it suggest Amethyst when you try to upload a pic.
