The quantity of what you consume is just as important as the quality.

And it goes for both your mind and body..

Of course, it’s better to consume steak than it is to consume some industrial soy slop, but too much steak will give you the sweats and make you constipated

In the same way, we all know that consuming porn and mindless mainstream media will erode your brain, but few realise that consuming too much “useful” and “healthy” information will actually BLOAT your mind.

The best thing I’ve done for mental clarity is switching OFF and deleting all these apps from my phone (I post exclusively on my computer now).

By eliminating the input I was about to actually come up with original OUTPUT once again.

That doesn’t mean I don’t read or consume anything. I didn’t say fasting in perpetuity is a good idea. But production is more important than consumption - no matter how healthy what you’re consuming is.

This principles applies to both the body and the mind.

I have been thinking a lot about this lately. When consumption exceeds utility, it’s almost always (if not always) a negative, even with the healthiest versions of consumption. Consumption and utilization must balance.

Very true. And maybe not even balance, but 80/20 toward utilisation
