The quantity of what you consume is just as important as the quality.

And it goes for both your mind and body..

Of course, it’s better to consume steak than it is to consume some industrial soy slop, but too much steak will give you the sweats and make you constipated

In the same way, we all know that consuming porn and mindless mainstream media will erode your brain, but few realise that consuming too much “useful” and “healthy” information will actually BLOAT your mind.

The best thing I’ve done for mental clarity is switching OFF and deleting all these apps from my phone (I post exclusively on my computer now).

By eliminating the input I was about to actually come up with original OUTPUT once again.

That doesn’t mean I don’t read or consume anything. I didn’t say fasting in perpetuity is a good idea. But production is more important than consumption - no matter how healthy what you’re consuming is.

This principles applies to both the body and the mind.

It’s a healthy perspective

+ producers need consumers too

Amazing! same as your book The Bushido of Bitcoin which I'm reading atm

Thankyou sir 🤝

Great advice. I'm probably overdue for a media consumption break, but the world, especially the US, is changing so fast right now, it's hard to break my attention. I've been feeling like I should get back into writing recently, and I'd like to read a fiction book or two as well.

You really should. Your attention is more valuable

Great post. I’m consuming a lot of BTC info and probably could benefit from a break or reduction. Trying to listen to music again instead of endless pods.

You definitely should

Good post. The book is in the mail btw, looking forward reading it!

🤝🤝 enjoy brother

Real. I’ve just severed ties with Twitter a few days ago and there is certainly more space within my mind. It’s hard to see how much pollution there really was from inside that perspective.

I haven’t yet fasted because of my fiat job, but I am looking for a 3-4 day experience as well. There’s something about “saving” your appetite that aligns with nature (and bitcoin).

In the end, I believe this all ties back to entropy; it’s either resolved into truth or stored in the body as varying forms of illness.

🎯🎯

Great book.

🧡🍻👊🏻🥩

Still waiting patiently for my hardcover book.

Still???

Email me. Let’s get this tracked down.

Everyone’s book should’ve arrived by now

Have sent email. Thanks.

Book has arrived. Digging in ...

I have been thinking a lot about this lately. When consumption exceeds utility, it’s almost always (if not always) a negative, even with the healthiest versions of consumption. Consumption and utilization must balance.

Very true. And maybe not even balance, but 80/20 toward utilisation

Excellent reflection, I'm trying to form the habit of limiting the content I consume, including "positive" content, both from smartphone and computer.

My strategy is to limit the sources I draw from - I've eliminated all other social media and I only get information from RSS feeds and nostr.
