FSR stands for Family Something Radio.

It’s the common use bands, I think in the 400MHz range. Not super far but probably the most widespread.

FRS? Family Radio Service. It's good because it doesn't require a license, but is limited in power (0.5 - 2 watts) and can't use repeaters. GMRS overlaps with the FRS frequencies (making the radios interoperable) but lets you use repeaters and transmit up to 50 watts. Only $35 for a 10 year license that covers your whole family, and no test required.
