Many posts about slow adoption of #nostr. Why? It’s called an adoption curve not an adoption line for a reason!

And while xitter is still a thing, it’s not going to get much faster. If your mentality is that xitter is still where it’s at, then you have no reason or motivation to try something better.

You can lead them to water and all that.🤷🏻‍♂️

Sure and many things on nostr still a pain. There’s probably space for both as well, who knows?! Whatever. People choose what they want but an open source collaborative environment engenders more rapid development as, in my opinion, nostr has demonstrated. Just a question of time will tell.

For me, I only ever used xitter in 2022-24 and followed as many people on both sides of various debates to see what I thought. I got abused for asking very simple, non inflammatory questions and decided it was a useful idea destroyed by toxic division. I eventually shut it down when I found nostr and got bored of my xitter feed filling up with movies of people dying in accidents which is not something I had any desire to see. Everyone has their desires and there’s a strong chance self ownership and choice of viewing will win out. Let’s see!

It just feels like a complete paradigm shift when you come here. Nostr is the complete opposite of xitter.

Plus, people don’t want to lose their followers and if their followers stay there, so will they.

Yeah easier for me, nobody stupid enough to listen to my shit. Don’t even know if I had any followers

Hahaha. I’m the same way.

I think the main difference here is lack of algos makes it more real

Indeed. Sometimes I follow my followers(only like 50) and other times I just follow hashtags and they both give me a completely different experience, but a welcome one in both.

It’s like they use the algorithm to inject controversy and to breed division between their users. Probably the most toxic social networking app I have ever used. I have it up in 2020, after Patrick Stewart finished his poem book. He would read a poem every day, I think it was Edgar Allen Poe, and no matter what kind of day I had, that always made me feel better. Something about his voice is very calming to me. But I don’t think he thought the pandemic would last as long as he did, lol he went through the whole book, hahaha.

And that’s one of the beauties here. Find what you want to see and you’ll see it, without additional distractions. He does have a good voice!

Need to shed the image that "Nostr is for CryptoBros". Critical IMO.
