Guess now I have to try it out.
I wonder how the geohash thing works. Does it reveal my location to the street level? If used with new nyms that's ok I guess. Or can I set the granularity in the app, so people can't triangulate my nym with any meaningful precision?
Not sure exactly what implementation he's using here, but there is a standard tag in Nostr to add a "geohash." The geohashing format has something of an arbitrary precision level; so you could be (say) 2000 mile radius, 200, 20, etc.

We try to reuse existing NIPs for interoperability, geohashes are expressed with the g tag.
Does this kind 20000 do that?

nos seemed to require PoW too?
yeah when it thinks spam is starting it switches to asking for PoW for a while and then if spam is continuing it gives up and rejects.
the kind 20000 notes were considered spam because they were coming from new npubs but I need to change that. need to rate limit based on IP and allow more fresh npubs.
