There is nothing significant that they do that is not easily accomplished with VSCode, at least not in my use case. The biggest convenience was it working ootb. With CMake and clangd plugins, VSCode is close to the same thing.

Ah okay. Makes sense. I seemed like there were more negative experiences.
In my case I've been working with PyCharm, living hell for the performance and useless functionalities...
Managed to switch to Atom after a week.
Then NeoVim and now I'm on Helix. 😎👍
My main focus is to limit reliance on software assistance other than pure linting and completion. Thanks to that I can use with anything and still write decent code.
