I think I could make it so you basically host a folder from nextcloud on s9 to whatever software, same way the Jellyfin works.

Right now, it's a webapp. Does it just need to be dockerized and save and fetch the files from a particular folder?

Yeah, and then await clearnet release

Are there any security risks with having your node and file server on the same machine?

Hardware vulnerabilities are possible, but the risk is so minimal that it's acceptable IMO. Especially self hosting shot, you're not a honey pot they're gunna go for first

My main concern would be running too many apps and services on one node but I'm not sure if that's a real concern or not.

I have a Start9 node that's just lightning and one that has all the other stuff I want to run on it.

Ok, so I'm hosting files on Next Cloud and File Browser. I get a long string with .local when I share the file. When I open that string on a different computer, I get connection not private warnings because I don't have a certificate for that site on my other computer. For sharing media and files for podcasting. How does Start9 handle SSL stuff when sharing files?

You'll have to wait for 036 to resolve the SSL stuff, otherwise it's manually installing certs to be trusted. But you'll have to create a new service for RSS stuff that hosts the nextcloud files in the format you need cuz I'm assuming the podcast index needs specific metadata around the file
