I think it’s a question of degrees. Most people use alby and WoS but don’t care because the convenience is worth the risk. How much is too much risk? I’m not going to cry over losing $100 and if my stash gets big enough I’ll send to cold storage. Phoenix wallet charged me $30 for incoming liquidity once and I’ve been very pessimistic about lightning ever since.
Right. IMO, if you're using Cashu, it's an immediate swap in and swap out to Lightning. You don't hold the nuts for more than a few minutes at most before exchanging them for Lightning sats.
Devs always talk of new users. But new users have no sats. No sats, no ln channels. After being on nostr for over a year, I just crossed the minimum threshold for opening a lighting channel on mutiny or zues. Where should those zaps live in the meantime?
We are simply nostr natives, we are ln sats poor.
Cashu is a strict improvement on custodial lightning, which is how most people are using the network today because convenience is king. If you dont want to assume rug risk then dont use it 🤷♂️
