Interesting. Do you have any pictures of the outside of the roof? Maybe there are timber framed trusses on top? I would have wanted a post in the middle
No I donโt have anymore pictures of this house.
Iโve seen a reciprocal log roof that doesnโt require a post in the middle either and it looks stable too.
But this setup is crazy
If I had to guess, the principle would be the same as a keystone in an arch. Except the logs are likely notched into the center as well.

yes, I see it now, and the more "spokes" / beams, there are the less gravity pressure on the walls. I'd like to see them dropping that center piece into place during the building. that must have been interesting.
