This show called 90 Day Fiancé is interesting. It’s about Americans bringing over someone they fell in love with from another countries.

On paper, it sounds like a romantic love story, but in reality, marrying someone from a different culture is challenging. It’s also risky to marry someone who doesn’t speak basic English—but many do anyway.

A big issue with marrying someone from a different country is the U.S. isn’t really set up for one income to support two people easily, most households rely on two incomes. Plus, the immigration system doesn’t allow the partner to work right away, so for almost a whole year or longer when they come over, they can't work which leads to loneliness, isolation, and serious financial struggles.

Many couples on both sides don’t fully think this through, and too often, it ends in heartbreak and disaster.
