This. A ban on #Bitcoin services, insane regulations, and attacks on privacy tools will only harm the *regulated market.*

The technology and the market of bitcoin literates will shift. And it will result in a massive move toward small entities, self hosted & private services, a new market of local trusted providers (think one person hosting payment/LN services for their whole extended family and numerous friends), and a far better ecosystem of privacy tools and obscured ramps into and out of those pools of private coins.

This system is open, permissionless, and global. Their attacks will be a pain in the ass, but on the long time frame it won’t work, and may only accelerate the type of development we need. nostr:note1xpr3c4uwh6rna880syuaarlukrtqc42hdn395wwhegfwlh9t8u8srxdkgt

everything is good for bitcoin. thought crimes will not be tolerated and math will continue to be done on computers. approved or otherwise.

And the nasty little rub is that only otherwise law abiding citizens will get caught up in this. Kinda like gun laws in Chicago.

You’re completely right, but It’s likely not going to be a “little” rub either, unfortunately. It’ll be a huge mess with many, many innocent people paying the price. But in the long run, I think we win.

Yes. Money is speech. Imagine attempting to prohibit individuals from storing secret words and executing computer code.
