That article is referencing the "Flat Earth Society", which is a fake group intentionally put out to misrepresent the actual flat earth truths. Basically they exist to make the real flat-earthers appear more crazy by using dumb logic that doesn't make sense
How do we know which is the scam? Whichever nonsense govt agencies are using all across the world to rob their nations of taxes.
Whether the earth is flat or spherical, the truth of that to you will never actually effect your life.
The scam is bringing it to debate.

What will affect me is accepting there's nothing left to explore in this world, which is the mainstream/globe position.
Also accepting human authority as supreme in a materialistic context might also affect me: "We are tiny and insignificant to the universe." Boy were they mad when someone checked the (microwave?) background.
That's just two quick ideas how the narrative keeps you glued to the slavers leash.

However, Inner-Earth Theroy has more legs to stand on (no pun intended) as well as historical evidence -- moreso than flat-earth. This also leaves us MUCH to explore.
