Need help

Trying to learn how to rbf transactions. Sent online transactions from my node but the mempool says the transaction aren’t able to be bumped. I checked my node and I have checked the option to make all transactions rbf but still no. I only sent small amounts could this be why. Can’t find anything when I google

Mempool.bitaroo.net says RBF is switched off for that TX?

Can you DM me your TX hash? Is it for opening a channel? Something else? 🐶🐾🫡

I was just transferring Bitcoin on chain from the wallet in the node

Ok, there is a way to bump transaction fee for sure. Does it have RBF on it, like the following example? 🐶🐾🫡

No the rbf button is red. I sent Bitcoin from Bitcoin wallet to a sparrow address. On there also rbf not available.

Take a look at the other link I shared! 🐶🐾🫡

Yes I did but it’s a bit above my pay grade and it’s Friday night so will try to get my head around it. I was only doing tests since fee so high so I could try and learn. It’s just a few bucks and if I fuck it up no big deal. My main thing I want to work out is why the node wallet is not sending transaction with rbf set. Even tho I have made that selection in node settings to make all transactions rbf

If you didn't have RBF set when you built the txn unfortunately you won't be able to bump it.

The setting in the Bitcoin Core node software is for the node wallet only. Were you using the core wallet or did you just use the node to broadcast the txn?

I thanks for the reply. I used the wallet in the node. I didn’t see any way to set rbf when I did it

walletrbf defaults to on. So unless you disabled it you should be able to bump.

Nope. It was off. I went and toggled it to on but still no rbf

So I saw in another note in this thread you used Sparrow? What electrum server are you connected to?

Electrum on my node

So your client wallet builds RBF into the txn then, not the node. That walletrbf setting is only for the node wallet in Bitcoin Core itself.

To clarify: using electrum on top of core and connecting to it from Sparrow means all your node is doing is broadcasting the transaction it receives.

Yes I got that part I think I may have confused you with what I was saying before so I resent what I meant

Yea I think I'm not exactly following the flow here

I sent you a dm

Yes that’s what I’m saying. I sent the transaction to my sparrow wallet from my node wallet. The transaction on meme pool has a red rbf tab. To also back this up I was saying that my sparrow wallet also said rbf not available

This is the setting we are talking about correct???
