I so appreciate the warm welcome π
I've played around with Damus before, but I heard about Highlighter recently and wanted to try it out. I've never used a website client before or tried to set things up from scratch.
It's such a cool ecosystem with everything connected/overlapping, and all these different ways of engaging with people and content. Blows my mind a little bit.
It truly is. Portable identity, wherein you are not bound to one client. Pure freedom.
The developers are so committed to the ideals of FOSS and freedom and very aware of the use cases for users. They are often very responsive to feed back too.
I can't think of anything else like it, tbh.
One thing I'm trying to figure out... if you're new, how do your posts get visibility? My original post might have faded into the ether if nostr:npub14qz92uedt0a8jte8jqg63jr3s5cc99cej36jh883z6tprlu354uqqe2q26 hadn't reposted it and then you guys replied.
Best to just engage in conversation with the people I follow, and build up community over time that way? I guess using hashtags probably helps, too
Yeah, exactly. You can search up hashtags on topics too and then respond to those. For me, the best advice would be to comment and engage in conversations. And post notes, on whatever you are passionate about. People will pick up on your passion and want to engage with you.
You are your own curator of your feed. No algorithms, so it will take a little bit of work and effort but itβs worth it for the freedom the protocol provides.
