i think the straw that broke the camels back on me leaving twitter was seeing someone defending martial rape and getting multiple thousand likes and retweets

I was never a fan of Twitter to begin with. I jumped on when Elon took over. I figured things would get better, or it would die spectacularly. Either of those was worth being there for, and neither of those happened. So I left it where I found it amongst the pile of toys I no longer play with.
