Better is subjective to the user. Some people (probably most) don’t care about a decentralized option, or crypto. If they don’t care about any of that stuff then there are much better options than Nostr.
Marketing can get Nostr over that hump, but the only Marketing I’ve seen has been focused on the very things mentioned in this comment. That won’t grab mass appeal.
If you want users then figure out what users want, and offer that to them. Otherwise users will find options that are not Nostr, and Nostr will fade into obscurity because of it.
Nostr is the future if marketed correctly. Otherwise it will wither away as well. I hoping it doesn’t though.

Why did the kid cross the road?
Because he didn’t have his seat belt on.
I brought that up to my grandad once, and he said you act like this is something new, and reminded me that journalism started the Spanish American war.
Id like to see one of those YouTube videos with the dude hacking the call centers that con people out of money, but the call center was all AI.
Yeah they have an alright thing going on over there. I do support communities setting there own rules, and being able to kick people. I’m not a big fan of entire servers doing so though. It might be more palatable if you didn’t have to start over from scratch when something like that happened, and just jump to another instance, but that’s not how they wanted there platform to function. Lemmy, and I don’t agree on that. So for that reason I’m oooot.
Well it took me 4 days to be kicked from Lemmy for the crime of pointing out that if I’m a rich business owner, and the world is screaming record profits bad then I’m throwing my profits into my balance sheet to erode my profits, and still come out on top. Record profits are a weak argument because it ignores everything else that a business can do to hedge themselves that doesn’t show up on an income statement. You’d need to know some basic accounting to be able to really know what a business is doing with there money, and profits are just one of many things to look at.
They didn’t like that.
Eh it was a fun experiment anyways.
I’m hopeful with Satellite. User created communities has the potential to explode content, and put Nostr in more public view
I might always be in a contemplative mood though not often down about it.
This lyric snipet has always stuck out to me though. It’s always funny until the jokes on me.
I Draw similarities to American politics. Statist is always good until the Jokes on me.
But I do love a good joke. Even when the jokes on me. Thanks for your concern though friend. We need more see something say something in society.
Eventually the jokes aren’t free and
Nothing’s ever fun and
Nothing’s funny
But now I see that the joke’s on me and
Nothing’s ever fun and
Nothing’s funny

Loved my carbon copy. I’ve sold most of my gear but my fender bassman amp, and cab. I won’t be able to replace that one if I decide to start jamming again, and my classical guitar. Business just got to busy, and I have no use for a lot of my gear atm.

I was never a fan of Twitter to begin with. I jumped on when Elon took over. I figured things would get better, or it would die spectacularly. Either of those was worth being there for, and neither of those happened. So I left it where I found it amongst the pile of toys I no longer play with.
Let me clarify those statistics for you a little further
The prison population is over represented by black people by about %12.
Men are over represented by about %40
Here’s a basic crime statistic for you. %95 of the prison population is men. How are men a net negative to society then?
• increased entrepreneurship,
• greater diversity and cultural richness,
• support for social security systems through an
influx of younger workers,
• increased demand leading to economies of scale in production,
• infrastructure development driven by urbanizati
larger political influence,
• increased potential for specialization and divisio
of labor,
• faster diffusion of ideas and innovation,
• and a larger pool of talent
In a world with declining populations perhaps it is not a good idea to off load your citizens.
