Pig butchering?!? 👀
I have never heard of this... But let me say that a few weeks ago I had a psychic revelation and I may be totally off... But there was a couple at the last #nostr event that I interacted for a moment that had a lot of red flags and recently had a dream than eventually brought me back to consider them scam artists who were phishing and doing some shenanigans at that event.
This was happening on hot singles near me sites for years, but it really took off when dating apps came around and social media thirst traps, it's crazy how many people are in on this economy and how much is lost each year, while the small timers are just trying to make an income it gets up to cartel level where people are forced to do this to pay debts
Honestly don't know how this stops, as long as their are people not willing to touch grass, interact with their local community, put the phone done and deal with their loneliness in a more constructive manner, they'll be an endless pipeline of people lining up up to be rugged
Kinda synchronicity right now. I was considering how social media has changed . Then realized others have always has various metrics to measure success by. For some of us we saw SM as a means to meet & connect with others in real life …. Apparently some have always had good and bad intentions. This is an issue that affects everything. No easy answers.
Absolutely there's no easy solve, ultimately boils down to personal responsibility, if you're not going to step in and save yourself you're subjecting yourself to the will of others, who likely don't have your best interest at heart
