There’s Will, and three days per week Daniel. Currently there’s other contributors in Eric, Sean, Terry, Roberto, kernel, Vanessa, Jeroen, myself.. Only Will is paid full time, Daniel part time, 1-2 devs have trivial / few hours per week opensats grants. There’s dozens of contributors who are not paid/are paid upon PR submission. Pretty much all funding goes to fund Will, and devs. Relay is tiny fraction of man hours of development & maintenance.

In case you missed it Will nuked the Damus relay, and apart from a couple of people complaining about not being able to see profile pictures for some profiles nostr still worked. Nukening meme attached.

Damus provides full control of relays for users, and the experience keeps getting better with each new version thanks to nostr:npub12gyrpse550melzx2ey69srfxlyd8svkxkg0mjcjkjr4zakqm2cnqwa3jj5 implementation and nostr:npub1uapy44zhu5f0markfftt7m2z3gr2zwssq6h3lw8qlce0d5pjvhrs3q9pmv designs. Latest snapshots attached. No one is forced to used any relay on Damus.

With devs deciding outbox is the most pressing issue and implementing or agreeing on implementing past few weeks seems like damus relay is a non-issue as it ever was.

Let’s figure out how to make nostr a better experience for newbies joining. Damus running a relay operated by free speech maxi Will is not at the top of at least my worries in why nostr wont succeed.
