Add a zero then cut it in half?
Discussion
yeah cut it in half
lets say itβs 5x962 canβt really cut 9 in half so you cut 96 = 48, then 2 into 1 and then add the 0, = 4,810
But if the number you canβt cut in half is in the middle like 5x692 then you cut the 3 digits in half 692 = 346 plus the 0 = 3,460
And so on
I personally like to cut it in half after adding a zero because then you never have a decimal or fraction
For instance 68299 would be 34149.5 if cut in half, but if you add the zero itβs a nice even 682990 which then becomes 341495
I did poorly in advanced algebra and calculus because in elementary school I got really good at math by creating or using all of these βhackβ strategies to solve problems and eventually when I had work on more advanced concepts I would miss the fundamentals π€£
I would always finish my times tables first though π
Ohhh thatβs litt I get around the decimal n fraction in a different way but if I just add the 0 in the beginning im cutting an extra step, appreciate that!!
& I can only imagine π€£ idk why they never taught me this!!
