The fact we can still afford to DCA Bitcoin and move it to cold storage means we are so early.

In the future, as Bitcoin scales to billions of people, it will be impractical to move $50 because the fees might be $500.

Of course, if you have $500 in BTC now, you will be able to move it because your purchasing power will increase.

However, for future savings and generations, cold storing Bitcoin on L1 will be too expensive for us plebs. So we must choose the most decentralized L2 solutions, or keep all our savings on a custodial lightning wallet.

Sats for lightning wallet(s), vital savings for cold storage. I think it's happening already.

Since fees will be astronomical and non-custodial upper layers need the ability to settle on L1 (if absolutely necessary), this will develop an interesting insurance market

It’s a wonderful stroke of good fortune to be alive at this moment in time and to grasp the significance and the courage to stack Sats

Storage might be layer 3 solutions that interact with layer 2 networks.

I agree that it must decentralised & resilient.

Multiple solutions for both medium term storage & fast spending.

The hard part will be not creating honey pots as many of us converge on a solution (like we did with WoS).

I honestly can’t find a better solution than #drivechains. A separate, decently decentralized blockchain with privacy and scaling features, pegged 1-to-1 with L1 Bitcoin and secured by miners, seems to be exactly what the plebs need.

This would require a soft fork though wouldn't it?

Yes, but it would be the last soft fork Bitcoin ever needs. Even Shinobi is pushing for another soft fork for CTV to help Lightning. I love Lightning for now, but I would not store my whole wealth on it.
