Perhaps. I've had one twice (gifts) and felt scammed both times. Sometimes something would get caught, I assume, as a pod would be closed with a dark thing inside, but it would quickly sort of rot and the plant overall withered steadily. May be a skills issue

Put it outside and stick a light near it to attract bugs at night. Also ONLY water with distilled or rain water. NEVER drinking water or tap water. Keep the roots swimming in water, also. They live in marshy bogs. Other than that, they kind of thrive on neglect.

A portion of my spectrum is allocated to carnivorous plants. 😂

Starting to think force-feeding dead flies may have been mine's undoing...

Yeah, not the best way. Here's the natural habitat. They need a winter and water with ZERO minerals or fertilizer.
