What’s your best solution? I’m sure that’s a hard question to answer.
Somewhat easy to describe, but a Herculean task to execute.
First step is for American leadership to recognize that (1) China isn’t the enemy and also isn’t going anywhere and (2) have both sides sit down seeing the world as it is rather than as they’d profess it to be.
There are just some many unsettling similarities to the UK and German back at the start of the 20th century.

With where the relationship is right now between China and the US, the odds of conflict are uncomfortably high.
It’s the same dynamic as with Russia and Ukraine. China views American policy as one of containment and if you look at a map it’s hard to counter that position. Same, at least in my opinion, was the case with NATO pushing for Ukraine membership key to Russia invasion.
It all goes to Taiwan and the headlines would have you think China is preparing for military action. I’m quite confident that they are not, but could do so if America pushes its current policy in the Pacific.
Are you anti-war and that’s why you care and want to negotiate peace?
I’m anti-war to my core, and my goal for now is just to provide as much context to the misguided “China posses a threat to the world” trope which is now far too prominent.
