Saw my kids today. Found out some bad news; my daughter still had 0.01136559 BTC in her lightning Blue Wallet. I know they sunset their Lightning wallet service on May 31, 2023.

Looks like I migrated all of my other lightning wallets, except this one.

If anyone knows of any way to possibly recoup any of it, please let me know. Otherwise I guess it's just yet another donation to the bitcoin ecosystem and making all remaining bitcoin more scarce and more valuable.

I thought they delayed the sunseting. Did you try sending them somewhere else? 🐢🐾🫑

They did delay, but that delayed date was the May 31, 2023 date.

and yes, we did try send a small amount to an invoice generated by Phoenix Wallet. Got an error message of "Payment is in transit":

Oh, sorry to hear about that. It might be too late now πŸΆπŸΎπŸ«‚

This was resolved. See note1u7erp8h0293nmf8d9h4nclngt8ss8wtsl5f08p0hwjkqc042vq0sfwkhw2

Those boat accidents, man. Sorry about your loss πŸΆπŸΎπŸ€£πŸ«‚πŸ€™πŸ»

add a new lighting wallet and use your own node's LNDhub, then you can transfer it from that opd wallet

Lightning is not better than btc core for long term storage

Was it the custodial lightning bluewallet or the self hosted lightning bluewallet on your own node? Either way the sats are not lost and still on the node so to speak. All the lightning bluewallet did was give access to the liquidity on the node that was hosting it.

Maybe too late, but try their support email / DMs. They were honoring some late requests still in the summer.

Good news. I was able to figure out that these sats we indeed migrated to a different wallet from an export/backup of that wallet on a different phone prior to the bluewallet sunset. What was seen on her bluewallet screen was out-of-date and did not reflect the transfer of sats to/from a restored wallet on a different phone. Whew. No sats lost.

However, that other wallet was lost in a tragic boating accident.
