The argument that politicians are incompetent is false; they are the best at what they do, stealing and lying, and I am not being ironic.

In fact, politics is the NBA, Formula 1, the Champions League, the Super Bowl of thieves.
Only the best of the best make it, those with the fewest scruples, those capable of trampling even their own mothers and killing their own children.
They are at least very competent at conning the idiot masses and large scale crimes against humanity.

That's a fair point, but any system where they are called "politicians" is going to be corrupt
They are incompetent and thiefs/murderers/liers/... at the same time.
They are incompetent to deliver what they promised.
And very competent once the system corrupts them (which is probably almost instant) at atrocities the power enables them to do.
