Black and white film developing starter kit got delivered. Got my weekend planned out!

how much does that cost to get started? assuming you have the camera
This was around 200 bucks Canadian and gets you developed negatives. You then need some way to scan the negatives. There are various ways to do this, but there are cheap $50-$100 dollar scanners on Amazon 👍
Ongoing costs is the chemicals, but I think once you have the main equipment the price isn't too bad!
rad
Thanks for details. Kinda pricey, but could be a nice gift-collab for a cousin who has expressed some interest.
Yeah, all in all I don't think it's the cheapest hobby. That said, I also didn't go for the absolute cheapest kit.
Most of this probably has its dollar store equivalent (measuring jugs, drying clips, thermometer, stir stick). You can scan the negatives by taping them to a bright window and taking a photo with your phone etc. You could get really thrifty with it.
The only essentials here is probably the chemicals (obviously), the processing tank, and the darkroom bag.
👍💜
Will you scan the negatives or make prints?
