In which album should Metallica have retired?

A lot of people say St . Anger but that was the first album I ever bought with my own money , and I only bought it because I thought they were the Foo Fighters.
I cant stand the Foo Fighters and Grohl specifically anymore, but I still listen to a few tracks of St Anger. Ive heard all their albums BEFORE that one, but none after. How many albums have they put out since then?

After Black Album I stopped listening.

I feel that they peaked with S&M .. I still enjoy the other albums though 🤙🏼
Ride the lightning ⚡⚡⚡ will always be my favourite album.
I'm glad they didn't stop, I enjoy some of the newer stuff. And they still kick ass playing live.
